R.I.P. Pip Pyle

Mon Sep 11, 2006, 12:28 PM
Pip Pyle is dead. It's an international tragedy :crying:
A founder member and the drummer of my favourite Canterbury-Band from the 70's "Hatfield and the North" is dead. i can't believe it. I'm so sad :(

Pip Pyle RIP
From the Hatfields Mailing List

"It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear friend and colleague Pip Pyle, who died in Paris in the early hours of August 28th 2006. Pip was a founder member and the driving force of Hatfield and the North, a unique musician, an extraordinary drummer and a larger-than-life personality. We will miss him terribly, and the music scene will be a duller, quieter place without him.

Pip's funeral will be held in England in a week or so (the date has not been fixed yet). Pip's children are planning to decorate Pip's coffin with the type of stickers he had on his drum cases, and have asked that if anyone has any Hatfield and the North, National Health, Gong, Chicken Shack, L'Equipe Out, Soft Heap, Bash!, Musicians' Union or 'Keep Music Live' (etc.) stickers they would like to donate, could they kindly send them now to the Funeral Directors:

Daniel Robinson & Sons, c/o Jo Setterfield
3 Bullfields,
Sawbridgeworth,
HERTS
ENGLAND

Alternatively, bearing in mind that these stickers are often treasured possessions, you can scan them and send the image to Sam Ellidge at ellidge@bigfoot.com and Sam will make them into stickers. All submissions are welcome. Please feel free to send anything that tickles your fancy, however daft or irreverent - Pip had a wicked sense of humour and would have liked the idea of people having a bit of a laugh at his funeral.

Messages of condolence may be left in the guest book at Pip's web site [link]. Thank you for your continuing support for Pip and Hatfield's music over the years, he appreciated it very much, and so do we.

Phil Miller, Richard Sinclair, Dave Stewart and Alex Maguire."

So now i got the program and i study it a lot and work with it all time and rendered my first Landscapes: [link] and [link] and i hope some of you like them. I hope that I get better in future, my 3rd Landscape with Vue 5 Inf is just in progress

Well there is so much to learn and so much possbilitys in creating and many things to discover, I hope I'm able to use all ressources of Vue 5 soon.

On a trip

Sun Oct 16, 2005, 4:20 PM
I'm on a trip... well my ear sayd me to hear some ambiente jazz.... this music-cocktails of "Calexico", "Iron & Wine"... and "Friends of Dean Martinez" and for sure the german duo "Flanger".. makin' '20th - '30th Blues and Jazz, at this time not named Jazz or Blues... sounds cool.. bit mixed with folk and alectronic... i'm on the best way to get dazed by this musical paintings. what's rock? rock rocks but what's progressive? progressive multi-instrumental... art-rock... it's art in music, isn't it? Neoprog... well done...

i'm confused.. what am i tellin' here?.... k

pink floyd... psychedelic rock... it rocks!

whole music just anaesthetizes. but now calexico & co does it to me.... music-junkie as i am....

anyone knows some great bands (except hiphop, rap, kinda house or dance) i'm open to everything.... just some rock, prog, jazz, blues, folk, ambiente. wow.... i'm confused.... dazed and confused, that's true, that's real, that's good.

have a break
